i sometimes need to make an file only available to registered uses - when they click from a link on web site - if they are not logged it it says the images are not there - can i change this message to REGISTER AND LOGIN - so they know it is there

the link to a restricted image should only be displayed for registered users, I suggest you use the RSS feeds mod of the CoppermiFetch mod to accomplish this (as those mods respect privacy settings). Ther is a mod as well that will send people to the login page automatically, please use the search.
