Has anyone figured out how to make the skin of gallery system to work with the IPB 2.0 skin?

there's a hack posted on the invisionize board that will accomplish what you're looking for, although not recommended as it has been reported to be buggy and because it requires modifications in coppermine core files (that's why we can't/won't support it).
