please post more details on a separate thread - did you take a look into the devel version, which changed the handling of languages to have utf-8 be the default encoding?

QuoteBottom line is: I'd prefer to have sub-boards for each language that actually is supported, so if you volunteer to support spanish as well, I will create a sub-board for this purpose too (and of course for any other language you or anybody else is ready to maintain).

GauGau, if it helps, I also can provide support in a Spanish Forum. I'm certainly not a code expert, but with all the basic stuff I can be of help to spanish-speaking users.

If "abandonment" is your concern, lets try a few weeks... to see if there are enough spanish questions to be answered.

OK, thanks for volunteering. Everybody welcome our newest language supporter Joel on "his" sub-board for the spanish-speaking community: Español (Spanish)

Joachim

Joachim Müller

Joel,

there have been several support requests on the spanish sub-board so far; you have answered none of them. Did you abandon the idea of moderating the spanish support board?

Joachim

Joachim Müller

Apparently Joel abandoned support, so I'm again locking the spanish language support board.

I have not see anyone volunteering to support a sub-forum for vietnamese. If you need me to support the vietnamese language, I am ready for it. Just let me know when you're ready :).
Thanks,
Lett

hmmm... I haven't really seen much demand for Vietnamese support, but it might be one of those situations where there is no demand because the option is not available...

In the meanwhile, could you do support in English? It would help us out and give us a chance to see your qualification to do support.

Thank you for offering. :)

Lett

Sure, I can do any kind of support within my knowledge. Especially in Vietnamese and English :). You can also see my website at www.vietlight.com/gallery/

hmmz, I tried to post some reply to support somebody here but unfortunately an error has occurred:
An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry, you cannot post new topics in this board.

Joachim Müller

you should be able to reply to people's requests for support. "Regular" users can't start new threads on this sub-board by design. Start a thread in the "regular" support board, moderators will move if applicable.

Joachim Müller

sadly, chtito has disappeared from this forum. He doesn't reply by email neither, so I guess he won't be there to address any issues (especially those that have been brought up on the dev section that need answering, regarding code implementations made to the devel branch). That's why I'm remving moderator powers from his account.

Luckily, the french support board appears to be running well even without chtito, with a lot of good supporters around there (thumbs up, guys).

@chtito: please contact me by PM in case you return

@anuro, Coppermine's project manager, GauGau, has been away and will return in a few days. He will be the one to take care of this. Just to let you know that you are not being ignored. Thank you for the offer. :)

Joachim Müller

I sent anuro a PM that explains what to do. For all who are wondering what to do, please refer to the Translator's Guide that comes with coppermine. There's a thread that deals with translations: [Help wanted]: Translations for CPG1.3.x...

darakhshan

I want to translate your software to persian language. and I am a newbie but as I experience I do not mind to handle a support forum

satumaa

I need help how to get my Coppermine to finnish??? I am helpless :-O
The problem is that i use normally the German version, but the users who are coming to see my gallery, are mostly Finns and I really can´t help myself how i can put my gallery to Finnish? I haven´t found a tool, cause within the language settings Finnish is not found!
pliiiiiissssss help :-)))

Joachim Müller

@darakhshan: please refer to http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=20355.0
@satumaa: fix your keyboard, there seem to be some stuck keys. After that, go to the same thread I refered to above

@everyone: it's very sad that I have to lock down all sticky threads, because some people just don't understand what they're meant to be used for....

This particular thread is for opening or closing language-specific sub boards, nothing else. From now on, all unrelated questions posted as a reply to this thread (e.g. issues about coppermine translations or similar) will be deleted without further explanation. So unless you're absolutely sure that your question is meant to go into this thread, don't reply to it.

Maybe a SubBoard to the Portuguese Language (Brasil / Portugal / some African places) will be very useful.
There are many people in this countries need a specific language support.
I am a voluntary  to help this comunity in this sub-board.
Thanks
