The old, long arrays (like $HTTP_GET_VARS) have been depreciated for a long time, but Coppermine 1.3.2 and earlier version use them.  PHP5 doesn't use the long arrays by default, and therefore nothing works right.  Once you enable register_long_arrays Coppermine works again.

The next version (1.4) doesn't use the long arrays and is not affected by register_long_arrays.

I'm a beginner, don't know what it is, and don't know how to fixed it.

Can you guide me to do?
Please help...

Thx

If you are a beginner, you should not be using the latest software like php 5x. Downgrade to 4.3.10

Benjamin

Downgrade to 4.3.10 can solve this problem or not?

Tranz

The issue is due to a setting in PHP 5. Since you don't know how to change settings, you must downgrade to v 4.3.10, which doesn't have the setting by default. If it wouldn't solve the problem I wouldn't have suggested it.  :P

I downgrade the php now, i will report that here when success or not...

My name is benjamin, i really want help, coz i don't know how to do, and thank all people to help.

Benjamin

downgrade successful~ but this...

Nibbler

Google for the error message - this is not the place for handholding you through server setup. As Thu already said, a php5, apache2, mysql 4.1 setup is not suited to beginners.

Benjamin

I was downgrade to PHP4

Apache 2
MYSQL 4.1.7

I tired to find place can guide me to setup up CPG

so i just can publish here

I hope somebody can help me

You need to properly set up your webserver before you can set up Coppermine.  There are a lot of good guides on how to set up a webserver, just do a little searching on Google.

I hope you don't plan on making it publically available.  Running a server from your home computer is not a good idea, especially for a complete novice.

Once you get your server properly set up and configured, it will be very easy for you to install Coppermine.
Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.
