CPG & Smf Integration with databases already created...

I have two different dbs created for cpg and smf already, and my smf board has been running for a few months and posts have been created. Is there anyway to convert everything to the bridged version without disrupting the current ecosystem ? I had to ask some of my cpg members to re-register on the board, not all have done so. If there is a solution, I think there might be some users registered on the board and not the gallery, will it create one user db which can be accessed by members of both. So once users have registered for either, they are automatically registered for both.

Also, is there a possibility that there is a bridge file or maybe a feature in cpg 1.4 coming up that integrates both SMF and php-nuke or some other cms ? I am thinking about moving the entire site to a cms, but wanted seamless cpg integration. Anyone have any other suggestions for a good cms other than php-nuke, post-nuke, etc ? Even if it is a commercial program which has to be bought.

The bridge file merely tells Coppermine to use your bbs user table instead of its own, it doesn't alter any table.  Once you enable the bridge, any users in your Coppermine user table will not be recognized.  The best way would be to use a tool like phpmyadmin and duplicate the users that haven't re-registered on your bbs.  There hasn't been anything coded that will look thru one table and check to see what values need to be duplicated.

The only bridges that are developed are for bulletin boards, not for content management systems.  The dev's don't use cms's, and we have no real interest in tying Coppermine to one.  There is one port of Coppermine, and you have to switch to cpgnuke to get it.  If you use PN, you can integrate Coppermine into it - check out the board moderated by CasNuy for more information.
