When I press the "Lets Go" submit button when installing on Mac OS X Panther nothing happens.  Everything is chmod.  What could be missing?  I performed a successful similar install on Fedora Core 2 no problem.  ???

What version of PHP are you running? If you have PHP5, you will need to enable register_long_arrays in php.ini. Post details about your server setup.
