I'm trying to make my Coppermine installation perform like other photo hosting services out there. By that I mean the ability to have an album NOT BROWSEABLE by anyone via user galleries, but available to ALL users (registered and unregistered) if they know the URL to it. So for all intensive purposes it is hidden from view unless the viewer knows the URL to it.
I've been through the documentation and searched on this board but haven't found anything conclusive pertaining to my particular question.
Is this something that Coppermine is able to do?  :)

Remove alblist and catlist from the content of your main page

Set the number of categories levels of categories to display to 1.

Now if you make an two nested categories, then make a user album, it should be hidden from the main populace

becuase its farther away than 1 category the thumbnails in any albums wont be shown in the random and lastupdate etc meta albums

you could also modify this

just use the cat idea, put it two levels down, remove only cat list from the content of the main page.

now you can still show albums (keep them with no category) and they will show up on the main page.

hope that helps, good luck.

Thank you donnoman, I was very impressed at the speediness of your response.
Your suggestions worked wonderfully.
Thank you again!
