I have most of everything working and have looked at all the mesgs.  I am running with MySQL 4.0 and want to get on at least 4.1.8
I  spent many hours with 4.1.8 and gave up.  I guess I don't understand the librarys mysql and mysqli.  How do I update PHP 5 to speak to
latest MySQL with mysql lib.  I am wanting to use several diff projects with MySQL and having problems there to. I think talking to Mysql 4.1.8 is
my problem on everything.

We don't know, or can't look into this. This forum is dedicated to coppermine only, no trouble shooting for server setup or upgrades. The best place to start searching is the mysql home page, the home page of your OS vendor (and of course google). Coppermine will run fine on mySQL 4.0.x, why bother?

On my local system, I am using MySQL 4.1.8 and coppermine works fine--both stable and dev versions.
