shrink normal_ picture in html

Is there a way to shrink down the normal_ images in your gallery by using html? Some of them are too wide for my next layout I have made, and have always wanted to know if there was a way one can do that. Thanks so much for reading.

you better change the intermediate pic dimensions in config and then use the admin tool to rebuild your intermediates (normal_xxx.jpg) files accordingly.
