Not a valid JPEG file

Hi,
   I am having issues trying to upload some of my pictures, the picture is about 1.5MB, it is 10752 x 2048. Slightly smaller files work ( 700KB ), but I have some at a higher rez, therefore larger. I cannot think of any other reason to fail..... But the error does not say anything about size just format..

So it uploads, then I cont and try to add it to a album, there is no thumbnail pic, and in the header this is the error.

Any ideas ?
