can't upload pictures can't figure it out

Hi,  I have a website that I want to use for ebay pictures, family pictures, etc.  I coppermine installed and I have read some of the threads and figured I needed to reset some of the access codes so did that and now can upload files, but not pictures.  I don't know what I am doing and am trying to learn.  I feel dumb cause you all know all this stuff and I don't know what I am doing.  When helping please use simple language or I will be lost  :-\\,   I think this would be a fab program if I can get to do what I need it to!

If you haven't already done so, read the docs that come with Coppermine.  You can either click the documentation link at the top of this very page, or you can navigate to /docs on your site.

What you posted is just debug output.  On your config page, turn debug mode off.

 I have read the tutorials and still can't figure it -- I did that before I asked for help!!!!!!!!  If I knew more what was wrong would me figure out why and thought that maybe I could have someone steer me in the right direction.  Right now I am in the dark as I can't make head nor tails out of part of the stuff.  Everything looks okay when I read the tutorials and FAQ --and thought I had it when it uploaded files, but it won't let me do jpgs, gifs,

What does it say when you try ? can you post a link to your site and set up a test user that we can try and upload using.

I go to upload file, get the browse set up, click it, find the file I want -- a jpg (example), hit upload, 1 uploads were successful.

Then when you check it-- it doesn't appear to be uploaded at all so I don't know if I am missing something / overlooking something, or what.

You have coppermine set to use Imagemagick to resize the pictures, but you have not provided a path to ImageMagick in config. You need to find out what the path is from your host, and then enter it in the ' Path to ImageMagick 'convert' utility' box in config.

I know this sound really stupid -- since I have a few websites I maintain it was cheaper for me to do my own web hosting as a reseller.  Where do I look for that to see if I have it or can I use one of the other options?  I looked and there is a gd1 and gd2 -- how do I find out if I have those?  Sorry about the dumb questions -- but I think once I get it figured out it -- it will be a fantastic program.  Thanks.

You don't have GD1 or GD2 - I already checked. It's not possible for me to see anything to do with ImageMagick though unfortunately. It might be one of these paths,

or it might not be installed atall. You need to ask whoever looks after the server. If you can get them to enable GD2, that would be a good solution.

I want to say I am really glad you were able to help since I was becoming very frustrated with it.  I have the ImageMagik thing downloading now.  Do I then need to upload it-- it appears from the directions that you install it on your computer though.  I am going to write and see if I can get them to do the gd thing as that would be far easier for me since I am still learning -- but thanks to people like you it gives us a chance to learn as well -- and to think a few years ago I went to my first computer class and didn't know it had an on switch and boy did all the young kids laugh!!!  Even the instructor was amused -- I was not!!  Thanks.
