Welcome one and all

A few people in the CpmFetch threads came up with the idea of having a place to share thier creations with the community.  So here it is... It does not have to be CpmFetch specific, just as long as it meets the following requirements:

  • Must get media from Coppermine Photo Gallery somehow
  • I would suggest that links posted are child safe or at least not outrightly offensive - well, no more than Television anyway
  • Must be your own web page, or have permission from the owner

Otherwise, I'd recommend posting a small 200x200 screenshot with the URL, but that is NOT a requirement - just a suggestion to save a lot of clicking.  Besides they look nice right?

Now, sit back and enjoy the wonderous and sometimes freaky creations that are the offspring of the Coppermine Photo Gallery

Also, if you are looking for basic examples of things to do with CPMFetch, see this page

http://www.fistfullofcode.com/php-lib/showexternal.php?url=http://www.fistfullofcode.com/projects/copperminefetch/tests/index.php

It's my working area for new functionality.

My playground for all things Coppermine, http://kuckoo.co.uk
CpmFetch is used at present for the larger random  picture on the main page.

Here is my little contribution to this listing:

This is my garden page...

(https://coppermine-gallery.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fistfullofcode.com%2Fimages%2Fcpmfetch_example1.jpg&hash=6e179f7d2eef14d1b3a011d83b2c16d7b5079fc6)

http://www.fistfullofcode.com/garden/index.php

I do two different calls on this page to cpmfetch, one to make the random image at the top, and another for the list of random images below.

The subpages like resources
http://www.fistfullofcode.com/garden/resources.php

Show one larger random in the corner.

Its not exceedingly cool, but I figured I had to put something in this post :D

At the moment (next couple days) I'm busy doing a revamp (fighting with colours as the background is a hard colour to work with) before I move so that the members get to see a fresh site that could potentially be static for some time whilst I get settled into my new job.  Trying to figure if the blue border around images looks good or not... usually I dislike them... hmm.

At the top, it is calling various random images, as our site is mostly visited by a few people who are regulars, it's nice to see old pictures pop out from the past and keep them useful.
In the text, on the left size to grab gallery statistcs and insert therm into otherwise static text on the left size to brag about how many pictures we have.
At the bottom left are most recently added pictures, with more detailed gallery statistics underneath it, all in a marquee (since I don't have physical screen space to show them all) - not sure if I'll keep it as marquee doesn't seem to be well supported by firefox (it seems to take a long time to appear or requires user input to start it).
Bottom right are two most viewed pictures, but I may remove those as it's pretty static and just encouraging more views and thus set a vicious cycle!

i,

where do you using Cpmfetch on this page ?
Very nice theme on evolver.ca ... But why do you keep the poor defaut buttons on your nav bar (thumb, infos, slideshow... previous, next)  ???

I finally got this thing working the way I wanted it to work. Took me a while, and had to do some fiddling around, but the end result is very attractive, and my visitors are absolutely loving it.

Live version (click here) makes use of the following:

5 random videos
5 latest videos

5 random pictures
5 latest pictures

I even made use of the RSS features, and users have been pouring in left and right from various web-based RSS aggregators like My Google, My Yahoo, My MSN, etc.

Major kudos to vuud. You absolutely rock, dude. :)

I use cpmfetch all through out the fron page of my site.

1. to pull the header image from a specific album
2. To populate some random images on the right side bar.

OK, this will be one of the "misc-topics-rolled-into-one" postings that we're not so fond of, so please bare with me ;):

1) The version of cpmFetch I'm using on my personal page is pretty ancient, so I really should upgrade it anytime soon. All it currently does is pull a random thumbnail for the featured album in the left column and display some rows of random and most recent pics in the right column (scroll down a bit). The most recent and random section mimmick the layout of the original meta albums within coppermine. Nothing fancy, but my visitors prefer it over the traditional navigation. Link to my personal page: http://osterburken.net/ (screenshot attached). Please don't ask questions on my personal page here (or anyplace else). Don't use the the contact form there to ask coppermine-related stuff. Oh, forgot to mention: the site is in German, so don't panic - there's nothing wrong with your eyes if you should see fancy dots on some letters (äöü) - those are just "Umlauts" that we Germans like to use a lot.

2) Hotlinked preview pics might go down later, which might result in a cluttered look of this thread, so instead of doing as vuud adviced in his announcement
Quote from: vuud on August 14, 2005, 03:22:46 PMOtherwise, I'd recommend posting a small 200x200 screenshot with the URL
initially I suggest to attach your screenshot to your posting (using "additional options) when composing your message. This way, it will show up with your posting as well. Additionally, it will remain visible even if the original preview changes or goes down.

3) It's a pity that I didn't read this thread earlier. Again, BT-loader misbehaved by asking for support on a no-support thread. He has been asked to respect board rules so often already, and he has been told that the next sign of disrespect of board rules will get him banned, so even if this is only a "minor offense" it's enough to break the camel's back: BT-loader, you're banned. Bye.

Hoping that the sad story ending (section 3 of this posting) doesn't spoil the fun for everybody else.

Cheers

Joachim Müller (aka GauGau)

We've got a couple of random pic displays on our site. This one is home-grown PHP from before using Coppermine, adapted for a CPG source:

http://www.travelling-light.net/index.php

I'll probably change it to cpmFetch, like this one:

http://www.travelling-light.net/html/p_start.php

That's cpmFetch 2.0.0 at the moment.
