All I did was change my database name and I got this error

Did you put the new database name in include/config.inc.php ?

yes, i dont know why it says

There's a good way to find out - debug mode

You'll have to edit the cpg_config table and set debug_mode to 1 with phpmyadmin if you can't get into coppermine.

It's a third party app for database administration commonly provided by your hosted company. If it isn't already installed you can download and install it yourself, http://www.phpmyadmin.net
