listing albums under catlist when thumbnails = no

Hm, I'm sure I must be reading right past this in the docs.

Version 1.3.3.
Config for main page: catlist/alblist/random/breadcrumb/anycontent
Theme  Water Drop with one header graphic inserted and minor CSS color changes

I'd like to try this arrangement on my main page:

category 1 (as link)
album a (as link)
album b (as link)
category 2 (as link)
album c (as link)
album d (as link)

(then the other stuff)

If I turn ON thumbnails for albums, I get that order - with of course the albums as thumbnails. But if I turn OFF thumbnails, I get ONLY the categories.

Am I doing something wrongly? I was thinking the albums would simply be listed if thumbnails were off.

Out-of-the-box, I don't think there is an option that allows CPG to do what you are requesting. In order to see albums in the category view you must turn on album thumbnails in category view. I don't think you can list the albums without thumbnails. Maybe some has a mod for this.

Ah thanks.  I was afraid I was just doing it wrong. Thanks for letting me know it's working as designed.

I have found a way to get by this very simply, as I know what you wanted - I wanted the same!

I just set the thumbnail sized to 1 x 1 pixel in the "Config" setting whne you are log as admin. It seems sillly that you should have display thumbnail in order to get link to album 

(when you do my way you get a small box but it is small!  )
