Until 3 days ago it did work fine...... Do you have any idea about how could I fix the error?

upload a fresh copy of include/functions.inc.php
I think you're using an outdated version of coppermine, upgrade to the most recent stable version, cpg1.3.3

I've upgraded to 1.3.3 with Fantastico, but the error is still there

It looks like the same error as with the zend optimizer that existed a while ago (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=12979.0). I suggest seeking support from your host.
