categories and albums

I want to let my registered users choose which category they want to upload their alums into. Either i ve missed something or it is totally impossible. Anybody any solutions ideas?

Users can't create albums outside the special user galleries category.

Let's say the registered user has created an album, uploaded the files into a default category. He/she comes back a few days later and decides the album wants moving into another category. They log in - go into "admin mode" -  when the user logs in and goes to "Modify Album" could a drop down menu be implemented where it says User Gallery with the categories listed.

Let's say that he's not able to do so, as suggested above. Users can't create albums in public categories, they can only create albums within their user gallery, that's it. In the current stable version (cpg1.3.3), users lose control over pics they uploaded to albums that exist in the public gallery, they can't touch it. In the devel version (cpg1.4.x), there's an admin option to allow them to retain control over those pics.
