Upload error for only a few users

OK here's one for ya.

I am getting this error message when I try to upload:

now for the funny part.

I cannot upload as a user or as admin. Some of my registered users cannot upload either, BUT many registered users are uploading just fine. And I have tried to upload from my daughters computer (logged in as her we can upload fine, change the login to me and the same error message).  So whats going on here? AND by the way, I have changed the permission on the whole darn coppermine folder and ALL files in to 777 and still get the message so it's NOT a permissions problem!

Different users uploads go into different folders within userpics. Apparently some of these folders are chmodded correctly and some are not. Make sure all subfolders of userpics are 777 or 755.
