can't view user galleries

Hi.

I would like users to be able to creat albums and upload pics to them.  After reviewing a lot of the FAQ I haven't quite got it.  Also, visitors should be able to view the pics in albums.  so far, it only looks like the general album allows any views- I have not been able to figure out how anyone can view a user gallery, including admin or the creator of the gallery.  Maybe I'm missing somehting totally obvious, but it's driving me nuts.

regular users can only create albums in their personal gallery, they can not create categories or albums within the public galleries. Review your groups page. By default, everyone (registered user, admin and guest) can view all albums. If anyone from those groups can't view a gallery, it's because of the permissions that you (or your users if you allow them to change the permissions) have applied. For details, post a non-admin test user account.
