Hello!
I wonder if it is possible to have me (coppermine admin) to verify wheter a new user-registration is ok or not. In the same way that it is possible to send the user a verificationmail I want one to be sent to me so that I can approve or disapprove when a new user want to register.

Thanks!

This is somehing I feel is missing too. I've got a semi private album for my family, and I dont want to add user registration because anybody can then go in a view my photos.. I'd like to approve the users before they can log in.

you can make the family albums to be viewable only by a usergroup (familiy). A new user will only be in the standard 'registered' user group and cannot view the family albums. Once you have verified that the new registered user should belong to the family group you can assign him/her manually.

True, true. :)   I also found another "hack" where you changed to send the active email to admin rather than the user. But thanks for your feedback.

Hi All,

Been reading the different threads regarding admin approval, and to me the option of using group privileges seems a better way to go then having the link sent to the admin for the following reasons:

Users still have to verify their email address
Can control what the users can and can’t do by the group they are in.

So although that’s seems a better option for me to use, I also noticed that there were a few comments about not messing with the groups in this way? Am I missing something or is this an acceptable way of achieving this? ??? ???

Thanks
