Ok, whenever i upload a high resolution i get a "Fatal Error" so i came here and saw the post about that. Someone said that if you use ImageMagick, you wont have that problem.

Is that true? Cause it's my only option... lol

If so...

I downloaded it and it's now installed on my computer. Now what do i do with it? I tried using it before on a different gallery but it never worked so i gave up and used GD, but this was ages ago now and i've forgotten. I got this gallery through my CPanel, too, so i have no manual or anything.

Anyway, how do i install it so i can use it with my gallery?

Thanks for any help :)

You have to ask you host to install it for you, there is nothing you can do about it. They may already have it installed. You have a version of the docs in your /docs folder and it is available from the link at the top of this page.

I have no contact to my host... is there anyway i can find out if it's already installed throught FTP?

I doubt it.  Most hosts don't allow you to poke around their system, you'll only be able to explore the space given to you.  You can try /usr/local/bin/ or a variation of that, but it's a hit or miss thing.  If you don't have any contact with your host, I would consider finding another host.

Well, i'm being hosted by a friend... i don't really get what control she has, but when i asked her about the php.ini thing she had no idea. I guess *she'd* have to ask her host...? I'll ask.

Thanks for your help :)

a person who is administering a web server without knowing what php.ini is definitely is not the person you'd want as a webhost, as there is a severe security impact if a person doesn't know how to properly maintain a webserver. I strongly recommend to look for "real" (i.e. paid) webhosting. If you don't, you'll get what you paid for.
Sidenote: Installing ImageMagick is not related to any changes in php.ini.
