hi,

I have placed a no right click script on my gallery which seems to be working fine for I.E  users. But my question is does this effect the gallery in anyway? can this cause any errors?

also at times i get a weird error that goes something like CGI error cannot connect with the http headers. can someone tell me what it means? thanks.

In theory: yes. Any modification of the code can affect the site if not done properly. If applied correctly, nothing bad will happen. Impossible to say without an actual link.

Post the actual error message and a link to the page where this happens. Keep in mind that we have a "one question per thread" policy you agreed to respect when signing up.

disabling right-click is extremely user-unfriendly. There are lot more things in the right-click menu than save image. I don't return to sites that disable such an important function for me. Like Mouse Gestures in Firefox gets impeded when right-click is disabled.

Just an FYI lest you don't want to annoy and lose visitors.

the only reason i used the right click script is to try & save on hotlinking. I know there are ways to still get the link to image but just wanted to try this out for a while..

here's the link to my gallery: http://www.preityzinta-fanclub.com/gallery

and apologies for askign 2 questions in the same thread. If i get that error again i'll post it up in a new topic. thanks for your help.

There are better methods to prevent hotlinking than disabling right-clicks. You can easily prevent hotlinking with a simple set of rules in your .htaccess. This way, you won't bother legitimate users of your site, but only those morons who actually do the hotlinking.
