When I create an album I get this message:

Critical error:
Invalid data received in '%s'

Does anyone know what's wrong?

kegobeer

Do not send me a private message unless I ask for one.  Make your post public so everyone can benefit.

There are no stupid questions
But there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots

Elisa

Most of all times it's a date and then a name, like:

10/27 Eva going to ....

Elisa

I've found out something about it. You know, when creating an album, you can move it up and down. When I just leave the album where it is, I can create it. But when moving it up, it gives me the error Invalid data received in '%s'. So I think the problem is with the index changing of the other albums.

post a link to your site please: I suspect you're running an outdated version or the wrong language file.

Joachim Müller

hmm, your coppermine install appears to be up-to-date. Please post a non-admin test user account with the privilege to have personal galleries and enable debug mode for everyone.

Side note (not related to your question): you include the google ads in an iframe - that's not a recommended solution. Why don't you just put the adsense code into template.html

The ads are in a iframe because my host gave me the code like that.. they host like 500 fansites, so I guess the ad is not the problem..

ok, created user..
user: tester
pass: test

debug mode is enabled for everyone and this user can have private albums:)

not sure what issues you have - for me, everything worked flawlessly - see http://www.eva-l.net/gallery/index.php?cat=10368
Please post details what exactly you did and when you got the error message. Maybe you could try to take some screenshots...

Elisa

Ok,

well, I login, go to the admin panel » albums. I pick a category, eg. Candids, and then a subcategory, 2005. I click "New" and typ the name. with the arrows I move the album up. Then I click "Apply modifications". and then the error appears. I will make screenshots when I'm home...

But, when I do not move the album, I have no problems at all. So I think there must be something wrong with changing indexes from the other albums.

Joachim Müller

I suspect that there's something fishy with slashes in album names. However, I was able to create some and move them around, so I'm still not able to replicate your issues.

I made some screencaps:
