Images FTP'ed not accessable through batch upload

Hi all. I am running PHP-Nuke 6.0 and am also using Coppermine 1.1d for nuke 5.5-6.0. I have been trying to upload my images through FTP to my folder located at /modules/coppermine/albums/userpics/ which is set to 0777. In the Coppermine config, I set the default mode for directories to 0777, and the default mode for pictures at 0644. After the upload completes, I go to the batch add pictures link in the upper menu and down to the folder I just uploaded and click on it. The images are not there, yet in CuteFTP 3.0, they all show up. What might I need to do to access the pictures after uploading?
