Random block and multimedia thumbnails problem.

Hello,
The block tries to show the actual file, example:

http://mywebsite.com/Coppermine/albums/uploads/thumb_dance_with_my_father_300.asx


Is there a way to either have the block ignore file types other than gif,jpg etc, or to have it use the default thumb used in Coppermine?
