-Overwrote all files except include/config.inc.php, anycontent.php, and albums directory.
-update.php, results all "OK" or "Already Done"
-versioncheck.php - nothing green, lots of red (most root dir files, albums/, include/, logs/, sql/) and the rest yellow
-other symptom: cannot switch to user mode

Not sure what to do; they're all there.

EDIT: Another symptom was that clicking a thumbnail produced an error.  I forget which, because it's fixed now: I reuploaded all the root directory files and now the gallery works properly, and I can switch to user mode, although versioncheck still produces all reds and yellows...

ah ic - I have seen this behaviour before, not sure what causes it though. Imo it's related to "unusual" server setup. Not sure what to recommend.
Remove "relocate_server.php" asap - see http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24217.0

I tend to agree.  The gallery works fine.  I'll talk to my host and see if they can shed some light, and post their answer here if it might be helpful to others.  Otherwise I'll consider the matter closed.

Thank you.
