When i try to batch add pictures i don't have a box to select a directory on my web server.  Therefore i don't have any way to select the directory where my pix are.  Does anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

  • did you actually FTP-upload any files before going to batch-add?
  • did you make sure not to upload into the userpics nor edit folder?
  • did you make sure all folders within the albums folder are CHMODed as suggested?
  • did you read the docs?

I've got the same problem!

Is there any other idea? Because i have got so many albums in my gallery and since now it doesn't work!

Try to change file names on your FTP. Don't use dots or caps

<edit>What I wrote below only applies to 1.4.x.</edit>
You could try changing "Browsable interface (recommended)" to "No" (below where the batch-add box would be). Having it set to "Yes" doesn't work on my XP Pro/Apache 2 setup (works fine on my OpenBSD box though). For me I guess it hasn't got anything to do with the permissions in XP, as it works like a charm when setting Browsable interface to "No", but I can't be sure as I haven't looked at the code.

Any ideas on this? I never really cared about it since it works with Browsable interface = No, but now I got a little curious when it seems more people have this problem (if they're on a Windows box and have done everything on GauGau's checklist that is).

erm, I think you're on the wrong board with this piece of advice: cpg1.3.x didn't come with the browsable batch-add interface, that's a cpg1.4.x feature.
However, the new interface is known not to work on some Windows setups, but then: who is using Windows as webserver? ;) The only reason why you have the choice between the old and the new interface is that the new interface doesn't work on all setups.

Oh. Silly me, I'll have to look a little more closely at which board I'm posting in the next time! ;)

GauGau, thanks for clearing up my issue about the browsable interface. And btw.. I know of noone who uses Windows as a webserver. I myself am using Apache for Windows as a webserver. :D :D (gotcha!)

Seriously though, I run a test/dev setup on my Windows box at home to avoid having to upload files after every change, and OpenBSD on my live box.

I edited my last post to say it's only for 1.4.x.
