Trouble uploading II

I got uploading files to work with the solution mentioned in Trouble uploading. But I was cheerful too early. GD1 was still enabled. And with GD1 the resized pictures really look crappy (compare intermediate to original). And once I enable GD2, I get the error message mentioned in the other thread .
Any ideas? As I said, GD2 is reported to be installed and the preview thumbs are generated as well.

edit: After rebuilding the thumbs/intermediates (with GD2 enabled) the quality is better. *shrugs* I still can't get GD2 working while uploading pictures.

Okay, all my fault. I did not apply the often-mentioned fix for both GD1 and GD2, that's what caused the error. Everything seems to be working smoothly now, sorry for causing any trouble.
