gallery set up

hi i am setting up my gallery i have set up cat and albums. in the cat .....on the home page i just want a thumbnail pic next to the cat and click on the cat to get to albums...in config set breadcrumb/catlist/lastup,2 but still shows albums under cats    thanks

in other words how do i get the subcategory not to be displayed on the index page http://lvmphoto.com/photos/coppermine/index.php
