A short while ago, I installed 1.4.2. Now 1.4.3 is out.  Question: should I update version 1.4.2.? , is there enough of a difference? (I deleted the relocate_server file on 1.4.2)

yes, you should, that's why we release new versions and label them as "maintenance release"
