Intermediate issues

I have a very large coppermine gallery (over 11000 images - http://capthat.net ) and I started having the intermediate images enabled. Now I have only enabled it for images over a certain size. All of the existing intermediate images of the ones that are smaller than the determined size are still sitting on my server taking up my much needed space even though they are not being used. But I tried to delete the "normal_image" via ftp, but when a thumbnail is clicked the full sized image doesnt load at all despite it not being used

The upside is that now when I upload new images the intermediate images aren't created at all

How can I remove the intermediate images to free up the space I need?

did you try using the admin tools - there's an option to delete surplus intermediate pics.
