ok, when i click uplaod file, it takes me to a page saying

"Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files "

but there is,

when i change the settings so that visitors can upload it works, but i dont want that.

could this be something to do with the "$template_main_menu1 = <<<EOT" as i have taken everything from main menu 2 and put it into main menu 1 in the theme.php file, so that everything stays in the same row.

thnx for your time

not a theme-related issue, moving this thread accordingly.
Create at least one album in public galleries, enable "Can upload files" in the "public galleries" column for the group your users reside in (usually the "registered" group) in coppermine's groups manager. Then go to the properties of the album (the button "album properties" next to the thumbnail that represents the album, visible only for the admin in admin mode) and enable "visitors can upload" there. This is all being described in the docs that come with coppermine, please read before posting further questions. Read the sticky thread in the uploads sub-board as well.

sorry about that

i have created a public album and i have enabled "can upload files" in the group manager but i still get the same error

i do not want visitors to be able to upload, i was just pointing out that when i do enable it, the upload works.

this is the error message i get:

Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files

File: /home/****/public_html/gallery/upload.php - Line: 845

any ideas?
will it also help if i post the debug info?

thnx very much for the reply

Thanks for reading my postings more carefully next time - it's not enough to set things up on the groups page, you have to edit "album properties" as well.

Mambocube

but in the album properties it doesnt say which group can upload, just which group can view it, i still cant manage to uplaod, i installed the newest version of coppermine today and i went through the document that helps u kinda build ur own theme.php file, but i still get the same problem

does it matter that i have all my buttons in the sys_menu section, and have nothing int the sub_menu section?

could it have something to do with that?

Quote"album properties"
OK call me a retard but... no dont' call me a retard... Where is album properties. My eye sight could be failing but just can't seem to locate where this is in the admin mode.

Tranz

While logged in as admin, and in admin mode, there should be a button called Properties next to each album.

Remington

Oh hey cool I found it. I had to click on the actual album first and then in there was the big ol button. But unfortunately there is nothing in there but allowing others to view comment etc...

My only problem is not with Users but with just me in Admin Mode uploading pics. All my users are uploading left and right.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I think we are dealing with the same issue.

Remington

Got it!

You have to create an actual album in your admin mode... Duh!

Once that is done then you can upload but you can't upload into nothing. An album has to be created first... lol

Sorry for the brain spasm folks.. I think we're good!!!  ;D

Joachim Müller

never leave admin mode, the user mode button is only meant to be used when you edit your theme design and want to see your page without admin controls.
