Keyword linking

The keyword feature to link pictures to alternative albums is great.  However, pictures linked this way do not register in the picture count until you view the album.  If just viewing the category, the album shows only the count for pictures posted to the album.

An example... I have an album with 2 pictures posted to it. I have entered a keyword for the album, and the same keyword on 2 pictures posted into different albums.  Viewing the category the album is in shows a picture count of 2.  If I click on the album, it correctly shows 4.

Is this intentional, or is it a bug?  It's a great feature that will get used extensively on my site, and it would be better if the count was correct all the time.
