Error...HELP please!!

My site was working perfectly just last night, but now when I visit it, all I get is this:

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)


what do I do??

Am I right to assume they changed the password? because now I get this:

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Access denied for user 'lynnied_cop1'@'localhost' (using password: YES)


So do I just have to get the correct password from my host and edit it on the config.inc.php file?
