 Hi -
???
I have Coppemine integrated with CoppermineVis and almost everything seems to be working fine.  When a user tries to view a full size image a new pop-up window opens, but it goes to my home page.  The current settings show that the relative url for user pics is userpics/

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Thanks,
DeAnna

We're not too crazy about CoppermineVis due to its disregard for Coppermine's copyright. So if you need help with it, ask the creator. Especially since they charge for it.

I realized after reading several posts how much the creator of copperminevis and his componet are disliked.  I completely understand and agree with why folks feel that way.  Since I have purchased the product the creator has not been very helpful or provided the support he claims to offer.  I realize again that this isn't anybody's problem but mine.  My only intention in posting here was that maybe someone has had a similar issue and might be able to help me solve this problem.  I thank anyone who attempts help in advance.

Hi -

I don't mean to be a pest, but could you please remove the "invalid" comment from this post so that someone might be willing to help.  I appreciate your team looking at my post, but did not expect you guys to solve my problem.  I was simply hoping I might get some user support.

Thank You Kindly,
DeAnna

This board is for Coppermine issues only. Try posting on a general scripting help board elsewhere on the net, at your host, etc.

I'm sorry to have bothered you with my need for help using COPPERMINE.  If you realized that my issue had nothing to do with Coppermine, but possibly with the CoppermineVis component your team so dispises you could have simply said that.  Instead you treat me as if I am the person responsible for making the component.  I simply liked the Coppermine gallery and needed it fully integrated with my site and after a month of searching for a way to do it I came across CoppermineVis.  I asked for suggestions not the run around or snide comments, they seem to be very unecessary.

CoppermineVis is known to cause issues with bad paths and URLs. I know this from prior experience trying to help people with similar issues. I apologise if I offended you in any way.

Thank You!

Again, I understand why people dislike CoppermineVis and its creator.  For anyone that might be reading this and interested in purchasing the component....DON"T DO IT!  There is simply to much headache involved, it's a commercial product and the support that is promised simply is not available.  I have been trying to get this simple problem solved for days with other requests for help being ignored for up to two weeks.  Coppermine is great, I just wish the component would work as promised.

I have a question you can answer if you don't mind.  If I decided to lose the headache of copperminevis and choose to integrate coppermine by using SMF would user login in be universal across the forum, gallery and the site?  Also, do you know if all the pictures I currently have in the gallery would be lost after unbridging copperminevis and mambo?

Thanks in advance,
DeAnna

after unbridging, you don't lose pics, but the correlation between user and pic gets lost. There is a bridge for SMF, and there are postings where people describe how to visually integrate (wrap) coppermine into SMF and subsequently into Joomla/Mambo. People reported that they have managed to accomplish such an integration fine, but we (the Coppermine dev team members) can't tell for sure - as far as I know, none of the devs has tried. A bridge directly for Joomla is scheduled for the future, but there's no saying if/when this will be accomplished. Short answer: we don't know if things will work for you.

Thank You for your time and patience!  :)
