I have version 1.3.4 installed and I've been wondering if it isn't possible to display the albums of the sub-categories as well on the main page?
I'm setting up a website for my parents for pictures from various family events and holidays and they want everything on the main page.

Example:

Travel [category]
- 2003 [sub-category]
  - Name of trip one [album]
  - Name of trip two [album]
- 2004 [sub-category]
  - Name of trip [album]
Name of person [category]
- Name of hobby [sub-category]
  - Name of hobby-related event [album]

etc.. if you get what I mean.

If you're in the process of setting up a fresh gallery, why do you start with an outdated version like cpg1.3.4? I strongly suggest upgrading to the most recent version (currently cpg1.4.6).

This isn't a fresh gallery, it's been up for a while now, but people tend to leave without looking 'cause they can't see anything on the main page (all of my parents' friends are like neanderthals when it comes to computers)

The reason I haven't upgraded is that I spent a LOT of work translating the whole thing to Icelandic, and I don't wanna have to do that again.

Config -> "Album list view" -> "Number of levels of categories to display"

We'd appreciate to see your Icelandic translation, see http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=14404.0
