Uploading files : nothing there after upload

I have another Coppermine Gallery and don't have this problem, so I'm not sure what happened.  The problem is that when I try and upload images... nothing shows.  The step where you place the file into an album shows nothing but a small vertical line and nothing more.  I even tried just placing the file to see if it shows up, but it doesn't.

totally confused.  This is a new gallery, so there aren't any images at all.

Any ideas??

Interesting... but I've never had any trouble uploading images through coppermine before.  I don't really understand this batch-add thing, but why can't I upload via "upload" via the web with this gallery?  I can do this with my other galleries... strange.   :-\

So I can't just upload the files from my computer through the gallery?  When did this change.... recently??

After you click on the link reload the page, it doesn't always jump to the correct section. You need to read 4.11.4 Upload troubleshooting

I did read it... the problem is that it's really not uploading anything.  When it gets to the step where you choose where to put the image once it's uploaded, there's no photo showing to the left.. only a small vertical line.  Even if I choose an album, and even after it says the photo was placed successfully... there's nothing there.

In other words, it's going through the steps but not actually doing anything.

I tested it in my other gallery and had no problem uploading the image (any image).  It's just the new gallery.

The troubleshooting section doesn't cover this issue, btw.

4.11.4 Upload troubleshooting

If you are experiencing issues with coppermine's upload process, temporarily change your coppermine settings as suggested below to get more detailed error messages:

    * Go to your coppermine page and log in as admin
    * Go to the config screen
    * Scroll to the bottom of the page
    * Expand the "Maintenance settings" section by clicking on it
    * Enable debug mode for everyone
    * Leave display of notices switched off
    * Save the new settings by clicking on "Save new configuration"
    * Go to the "groups" panel
    * Set the upload form configuration for all groups to "Single file uploads only" (set File upload boxes to "1", URI upload boxes to "0" and No. of boxes to "fixed")
    * Save your new settings

Then try to upload (using http uploads, even if you experienced troubles using another upload method) - you should get a more detailed error message that tells you what exactly goes wrong with your uploads. If the error message doesn't mean anything to you, search the support board for the error message you get.
When asking for support on the coppermine forum, post a link to your site and a test user account (the test user mustn't be in the admin group!) with upload privileges, with the above mentioned settings in place - this way, supporters can see the error messages as well. Do not post debug_output unless requested.

Okay, did everything on the list and still nothing.  There aren't any error messages.  Everything shows as uploaded successfully and places successfully, but nothing is there.  The little preview that's supposed to show when you place the file after upload doesn't even show anything at all.  Everything works fine on my other site gallery, and this is a new install... so I'm wondering if I should just unintall, re-install and start over again....?

When asking for support on the coppermine forum, post a link to your site and a test user account (the test user mustn't be in the admin group!) with upload privileges, with the above mentioned settings in place - this way, supporters can see the error messages as well.

This is a private forum built for a friend's use for their music/band.  But there are no error messages, none at all.  Just no photos upon upload.

Okay... so I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and am still having the same problem.  I've done everything suggested to no avail.


I am now getting an error message (conflicting at that) that reads exactly as below:

The previous file could not be placed.

You have successfully placed all the files.


I'm totally confused.  Nothing's worked, not even a complete reinstall.  What do I try now?

lets support blindly
- go to: admin mode=>config=>Files and thumbnails advanced settings =>Method for resizing images
first set it to "GD version 2.0" if didn't work set it to "GD versio 1.0"
- is your old gallery on same server of new one
- did you check the folder permissions?
- did you enabled "debug mode"?
