Has anyone actually done it because for the last week I've been trying to install it (And other Gallery tools because I gave up) I think I am a complete newbie or it is making me on.

I got the famed "Unable to write config file 'include/config.inc.php'"
So I edit it myself and made my own config.inc.php file.

Now I get

Fatal error :

.
(Then an IFRAME)
While executing query "SELECT * FROM cpg132_config" on 0

mySQL error: Table 'SencneS.cpg132_config' doesn't exist

So I though, ok baby steps baby steps I'll just create a table.
So I did - It asked to me create a table and I did I gave it 10 fields not knowing what would need to be created.

I can't get past this error I have no idea what the table should look like.

So I pose it to people..... HAS ANYONE Actually used Coppermine with GoDaddy???
Because if not I'll waste my time trying to get other php script working. Hell I might even go to ASP.

Make the include directory writable and then run the installer.

I believe I have, I mean I can create stuff in that folder and everything. Checked the permissions everything looks find. It just doesn't like me and I can't work out why. That is why I asked if anyone has got it running on godaddy. I see some people have and have been reading the threads nothing seems to work.

I figured I could probably create everything once manually and be ok but it's the database I don't know the tables should be setup like etc.

Which version are you installing? The error message above refers to 1.3.2

I'm installing the latest 1.4.8. I downloaded the zipfile linked from this website.

I've looked at everything I can possibly look at in the control pannel. I even had their directory manager software check to make sure the folder permission was set. Their customer support is not helping because it's not "their product"

I've installed one of their freebees "Community Service" which has a Photo Gallery and it works fine but it's a hiddious app.

To be honest I don't need anything as complex as Coppermine either, just a simple script that scans a directory, each folder in that directory is a Album, it scans the albums and thumbnails the jpgs in those folders/albums hell I'll even create a thumbnail folder and manually put thumbnails on there..

I just suck at php scripting  I'm a n00b. :-\

PS - That error above about the database, that is the default prefex for the table creation, I just used the same name that is already in the field when running the Install.php

I finally found something that work and is almost exactly what I was looking for.

Thank you for your attempts to help solve the problem but I've desided to go in a different direction.

I'm putting this in here in case anyone searchs godaddy and is haveing similar problems and doesn't need a full blown knock your socks off website gallery perform a google search on "simple asp online photo album" you can even click the "I'm feeling lucky"

I am not advertizing another product I am trying to help anyone that had the problems I had and just can't deal with tech support any more. I'm sure coppermine is a awesome product and was recommended to me. GoDaddy on the otherhand just doesn't seem to play nice with it.

Thank you once again for your assistance.

Hey, that's cool. We would rather people be happy with another product than frustrated with ours. And with Godaddy webhosting, frustration seems common. So thanks for sharing your solution even if it's not with us. ;)

fyi

Just completed an install on a Godaddy account.

I was having the "No input file specified" error and changed the folder permissions and permission on install.php then refreshed the page.
