insert a pic in the category description

Hi!

I'd like to insert a picture in my description of the main category. After asking a friend he recommended me to do sth. like

echo "<img src=\"directory/file.jpg\" alt=\"grafik\">";

but it did not work. As I have no idea but the feeling that somebody else could have tried that before I pass over the question how it works to you!

I hope anybody could give me a good hint/advice what to try next
