error processing database querry

I upgraded and now I get this error when I try to upload a pic

mySQL error: Unknown column 'position' in 'field list'

Sorry nub here... How do I run update.php. I'm having the same problem

Type in update.php at the end of your gallery url, eg http://yoursite.com/gallery/update.php

I did that. Now I cant log into the site. It keeps saying ***couldnt log in. try again*** I checked the database and all the users still exist.
