Error after install.php

I have just downloaded the latest install to try out before adding a gallery to my site.

After uploading the files and entering the required details in install.php I click continue and get the following error:

(Trying to load login.php)
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/crafscou/public_html/forum/gallery/include/themes.inc.php on line 2486

I uploaded using Filezilla in AUTO mode, then ASCII and then BINARY with no chance for each. 

I then tried browsing to the gallrey root to see if its one specific file thats the problem but I still got the same error.

I think its a pretty safe bet that this is not an installer file error otherwise this issue would have been easily found on the forum so it must be something I did. Can anyone suggest where I went wrong ? Im no php or mySql expert

It means the file is not uploaded correctly. Try downloading the package again or using a different FTP client

Yup, your right. Thanks for the quick response!

I downloaded the app again and re-uploaded a few choice files as a test and things sprang into life so I am now overwriting tha files with the new gallery.
