I have just installed coppermine 1.4.8 at http://greystonesscouts.com/gallery/

I have installed and used coppermine before, but this case is a new installation.

When batch adding files uploaded by FTP, only some of the thumbnails appeared, the others had a transparent 'spacer.gif' where the thumbnail should have been. I selected all the photos anyway. and proceeded. In the next step, the photo whose thumbnails had appeared were added successfully, but those whose thumbnails didn't weren't added. 'OK' appeared next to the successfully added ones, and a broken image next to those that weren't added. I tried clicking the broken image to see any error messages, but this led to a blank white page.

When looking at the images which were & weren't added, I realised that only the photos which had been cropped in Picasa before uploading were being added. I thought maybe the uncropped ones were too big, but their longest side 2304 px, and my maximum length/height is set to 4096 px.

Same problem has happened when batch-adding from 2 different directories. Both directories have permissions 777, and I don't know what else to try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
neil

I have now tried adding the photos in this directory using the URL upload method, and receive the error:

QuoteFatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9216 bytes) in /hsphere/local/home/greyston/greystonesscouts.com/gallery/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 262

Think this was the problem with the batch upload?

Does that mean I will have to resize/shrink all the photos?

Nibbler

Yup. There is a sticky thread specifically about that error message if you search the board.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.

Oh well, better get to it.

Thanks for your help
