"Latest upload" displayed on another page

Hello kind people -

I was wondering if there is a way to display the latest uploaded picture in one particular album, on an entirerly different page than the gallery' index?

I have this (static html) page where it shows what I want my page (not the gallery) to look like - each album is displayed with the latest update, like the first album (called "Surface") has just been updated with "page 47".
What I planning to do, is make this page dynamic (php), and somehow implement the "newest update" from the gallery in that particular album, right below the icon for that album.
