Upload Problem All Folders Are 777

OK install went great.....fixed the folder permissions.....But when I go to upload I get a message saying
The previous file could not be placed.    and below that its says
You have successfully placed all the files    OK what is going on ?   
I made a TEST ALBUM as well
Username TEST
Pasword is TEST

OK I changed my GD 2.x to GD 1.x   and it works now......But what is the differance between the two GD's

In fact you should do exactly as suggested in http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_trouble
Mind the capitalization in usernames and passwords!

Yes I didnt work do to the fact I deleted it.......And yes I did use the docs but the error still shown up.....It doersnt explian other errors....especially for newbee's........Its working now but my question I still have is what is the difeference between  the two GD 2.1 and GD 1.2

They are old and new versions of the software.

OK so I should be using GD 2.1.X if so why does one work and the other not....? Tubeglu....PS Thanks for all you guys and girls do around here.....This is really a great program....My hat goes off to you all
