I re modify it back, in proper way, it seems I am unable to write on the include/config.inc.php, I am unable to change the permission on the album and include folder, it will remain 666 even after i chaned it to 755 or 777. I've called my web provider and they said that my web server is running on windows 2003 IIS and does not require to chmod or change pernission because all the files and folder are writeable in the platform.

Now, the characteristic of my problem is,

1) include/config.inc.php.sample  <<< should I change this to include/config.inc.php and chmod to 777 or 755?

2) I dint set the path of ImageMagick  <<<< would this be the problem too?

Please forgive my earlier action and assist me to go through this problem,

Thank you

Sami

If chmod with ftp-client didn't wok for your, use folder manager ot file manager under your hosting control panel and if you didn't have any kind of these manager ask your host to change the permissions for you
about windows :
you can't remove read-only completely from a folder, it will always show a gray selected box of read-oly under WinXP
‍I don't answer to PM with support question
Please post your issue to related board

Trie all of them, the web panel window panel, so i guess I jus need to make a call to my web host guys in there and ask them to change permssion for me, hope that will work later. Thanks

Editing out your initial question renders the whole thread useless and is selfish, rude and impolite. You should have replied intead, preferably saying what you did to solve your issue.

Ok, here is for the coppermine community, I solved the trouble by ' disabling the frontpage extension '

This only applies to IIS server

Why do we need to disable the frontpage extension on the server? Because when you enable the frontpage extenstion on the server, all the files in your server are ' read only '. So that makes sense that the config.inc.php files cannot be written.
So disable it in order for the file to be written. Remember, once you enabled frontpage extension again, it will be ' read only '.

Thank you

This is not the case on all server setups. After all, it depends on your webserver setup. Generally speaking, we don't recommend self-hosting, nor IIS, nor MS Frontpage, nor MS Frontpage extensions. However, when properly set up, Frontpage server extensions should be capable to live with needed permissions as well.
Bottom line: others who have similar issues might want to try disabling Frontpage extensions, as this might help. We don't recommend using them in the first place.
