Hi guys.  Newbie here.   I have been using your excellent Coppermine for only a short while, integrated (bridged) into my phpBB forum.  I have version 1.4.8 installed, fully working and fully set up.

Now, I have read the manual and tried a search, but I can't seem to find the answer to my specific requirement.  I hope you can help me, in layman's terms!

I have my gallery currently set up so that members (and members only, not guests) can create their own personal albums, and upload photos to specifically set up albums.  No problems so far.  What I want (and I've seen this feature on other sites) it two create two albums for photo competitions in which members can upload their competition entries to but not see entries from other members.  Only myself will be able to see them until the close of the competition date.

I have tried setting in the Config that albums can be private and viewed only by me, but this results in members not seeing the albums to upload their entries to. (I don't want to make it that members are able to create their own private albums either!)  So this didn't work.

I know I can set Approval for Public Albums Upload in the Groups settings and not approve them until the close of the competitions, but this applies to all public albums and not just the two competition albums.  I want members to be able to freely upload their photos to all albums without approval, and view photos in all albums, except two.

I'm sure I've seen this done on at least 2 other sites using Coppermine.  Maybe I'm mistaken.  If it's possible, how is it done.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Where? I don't think that this is a coppermine feature unless you do as suggested below.

That's the only solution I could think of.

Hi, I'm searching for something ~similal~ Heres a suggestion -

Make your public gallery private. Add a keyword string to it 'Competition_4_August' - the underscore prevents 'Competition' '4' 'August' being keywords - and add a password to it so that the album doesn't display.

Only give out the password when the competition closes.

Then, allow your members to upload images into their own private album but tell them they need to match your keyword for the competition on the image keywords 'Competition_4_August' This magically displays the images in both albums.

Then hide your users private albums. (unsure about this bit as I'm not too familiar in this area). Quite possibly you may need each member to have two albums - one for competitions (private) one for general public display.
