For the purpose of understanding my query, you can refer to my temp
coppermine installation at

www.theartgallery.co.uk/cpg149

And apologies if there is a thread with the answer - oh and you can assume a little knowledge of coding , html etc etc.

I wish to place [probably above] LATEST NEWS BOX - a latest news type thread, and place it above the category listing ie above the ARTIST GALLERIES IMAGES row - And I also want to instal a mailist box, so users and visitors can subscribe to a 'er, mailing list. So the latest news appears on the front page of the gallery along with everything else. Ideally the news block, is configurable, to have several pieces of news , about several artists. Possibly with time and date of placement.

I want to avoid , if I can intgrating a bb, as I assume just doing these two things as standalone operations would be easier and less draining on the server. That said, I would think a bb, and pulling the threads that may be news items could work.

Any ideas?

Oh BTW, the instal has gone okay, but what you see, if you go, is just test galleries and words.

Okay anycontent.php -

I assume that is the raw file I edit etc etc..

I notice that on the demo , the welcome banner which says 'edit the anycontent.php' - how would i default that to the top. Is it in one of the admin functions.

This should be the last you hear on this subject , all being well.

Many Thanks.

Change order using 'The content of the main page' in config.

I have found where to insert anycontent.php.
Which is in album list view under content of main page.

So for now this is solved, but would it not be better to have main page admin under its own menu?

Cheers
