Is there a way to automatically be logged in after you register an account?

Is there a way to automatically be logged in after you register an account? As of now if you register as a new user....you now have to login with your username and password.

It would be better if after you registered you were logged into the system. It removes an extra step.

How can a new registered user to automatically logged in after they have registered?

out-of-the-box: no!
But you could modify the code to redirect the user properly.

Sure....but how? I tried something like

login.php?username=name&password=password

But that didnt work....any ideas on what I need to do?

I just discovered your second posting on the very same issue and merged it with this thread.

A hint for the future: if you want my help (or actually help from anybody on any forum), do not double-post - this will only make people (and especially moderators) angry or at least reluctant to help (applies to me, I quit support on this thread).

Whoa....wait..sorry. I didnt mean to double post, but I wanted to post the question in a differnt category in the forum. I looked for a way to move the thread (some forums offer this) but I couldnt find a way to move the thread.

Sorry to have mad you so mad...but I was trying to move the thread to another section that may be able to offer some help.....thats all.

I still would appreciate any help you can give me and I'll be sure not to double post in the future....but you may want to offer a way to move the thread.
