No link to upload

I have set up permissions to only allow users to upload to personal albums rather than public albums. However, no 'upload' link is displayed in the menu. They are able to create personal albums, but due to the absence of this link, they can't add any files!

The link will only appear if I edit permissions to allow users to upload to public albums as well, which also allows them to upload to the previously inaccessible personal albums. I really don't want to use any public albums though.

I've used the demo run package on my PC and had no issues, yet for some reason on the proper version I get this problem. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You have to enable 'public uploads' and then only allow uploads into specigfic albums using album properties.
