long file names, mess up the album thumbnail view, any fix?

hi all,

if i have setting for 5 pictures for 1 row, in config, and one name is to long, it will totally mess up the structure, is there anyway to restrict the structure and make it cut the filename at the max of the restricted number? Or in a simpeler way, is there a way to rename all files inside a album to make it automaticly cut off the end of the names to the desired max number?
