Host Requirements

Hello,

I wanted to ask if one needs sufficient disk space (online) or sufficient mysql database space to run Coppermine. I want to put up images that have a total size of 300 mb (all together) and I want to know if coppermine needs to host them on disk space provided by the host or database space. In other words, do images uploaded on a server stay there after they are put in albums and categorised by coppermine or do they get transfered to the mysql database (space) by coppermine?

You upload pics into the albums folder.
Then you insert the pictures into albums created in CPG.

The only thing it does is to write in the MySql database the location of the pics. It does not put the picture in the database, just the location and other info related to the picture.

Reading this http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm also explains a lot of what you need to know when setting up CPG for the first time.
